
Musicians from Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble ACJW will give a free public performance at Westminster School on Oct. 7 as a part of the school’s Westminster Music Series. The ensemble performs worldwide.
Members of the ensemble who will be performing at Westminster include James Austin Smith, oboe; Owen Dalby, violin; Meena Bhasin, viola; and Saeunn Thorsteinsdottir, cello. They perform regularly at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and on tour with Musicians from Marlboro. They recently returned from a tour of Iceland.
At Westminster School, the musicians will perform String Trio in B-flat Major, D. 581 (1817) by Franz Schubert; Phantasy for Oboe and Strings, Opus 2 (1932) by Benjamin Britten; Sonata for Violin and Cello (1922) by Maurice Ravel; and Quartet for Oboe and Strings, K. 370 (1781) by Mozart.

The performance will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Gund Reading Room of the Armour Academic Center. The school is located at 995 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to the Armour Academic Center.
