Paint and Plant

The Simsbury Historical
Society’s master gardener, Bonnie Lombardi, will be offering a fun spring
planting activity for elementary students during April vacation. “Paint and
Plant” will combine art and science for students grades 1-6. Participants will
learn about living in Simsbury in the 19th century when townspeople
grew their own food to sustain their families, then each will receive a pot to
decorate and vegetable seeds to plant. Cost is $5.00 per child; 15 slots are
open per class. Classes are from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on 4/19, 4/20 and 4/21 at the
Ellsworth Visitor’s Center, 10 Phelps Lane.
To reserve, please call the Historical Society at 860-658-2500 (12 p.m.
to 4 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays or Saturdays) or email
programs@simsburyhistory.org.
