McLean Health Center, in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association, to present The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Takes on Alzheimer’s on July 7.

Did you know that Alzheimer’s is an epidemic? More than half of all Americans now know someone with Alzheimer’s. Almost 30 percent of Americans have a family member with the disease. Women are at the epicenter of the Alzheimer epidemic, and nearly 10 million American women either have Alzheimer’s or are caring for someone with the disease. Two thirds of the people who have Alzheimer’s – 3.3 million are women, and sixty percent of Alzheimer’s caregivers – 6.7 million are women.
