Westminster School inaugurates a lecture series in April that will feature presentations throughout the year by faculty members related to their areas of expertise. Westminster Latin teacher Maureen Gassert will give the first lecture on April 22 titled “Mother May I? The Significance of the Helen Episode in Virgil's Aeneid." Seniors Jacob Lee and Grant Kugler will participate in the presentation.
Gassert loves classics. A graduate of Holy Cross, she is a member of several classics organizations and advises the Junior Classical League at Westminster. She has attended the American School of Classical Studies Summer School in Athens, the American Academy in Rome’s Classical Summer School, and taken Virgilian Society tours of Egypt and Turkey.
The Westminster School lecture is free and open to the public and will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Gund Reading Room of the Armour Academic Center.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the lecture and ample parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to the Armour Academic Center.
