Farmington Valley Teams Win Two of Three in Girls Hoop Tournaments

Simsbury came up a bit short in its Class LL opener against Trumbull.

SIMSBURY, CT - Girls basketball state tournament action commenced Monday in Class L and Class S, with Farmington Valley teams emerging victorious in both.

Farmington, the No. 12 seed in Class L, defeated No. 21 Jonathan Law, 69-58. The Indians have a tough assignment in the second round, traveling to defending champion Capital Prep Friday at 7 p.m.

In Class S, Canton cruised by No. 30 Wolcott Tech, 55-20. The third-seeded Warriors host No. 14 Windham Friday at 7 p.m.

Simsbury was the only local team eliminated Monday, falling to Trumbull, 43-38 in Class LL.
