On Tuesday morning, February 25, The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company responded to a call for a power line down at 19 Saddle Ridge Drive. The power line turned out to be a severed high tension line which caught a shed on fire, burning it to the ground.
“Because of the danger from the live electrical line and because there were no other exposures, we waited until CL&P could make the area safe. Since it was a transmission line, it took a while for them secure it,” stated Fire Chief James Baldis. “There were no injuries and no damage other than the shed and contents.” The fire was extinguished when the power was terminated.
