First Church of Christ Simsbury Hosts Solar Workshop

Connecticut residents invited to First Church on Sunday, June 4th

First Church of Christ Simsbury at 689 Hopmeadow St will host a Solar Workshop on Sunday, June 4th from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm

First Church of Christ has joined with four other houses of worship in Connecticut to do community education and outreach around residential solar as part of the Solarize with Faith program. Solarize with Faith is part of the larger Solarize Connecticut program, which has helped the state grow from less than 900 residential solar installations in 2012 to over 23,000 solar installations today.

What started out as a municipal-based program allowing residents to purchase solar at group rates in their participating town or city has expanded to include communities of faith. The guiding philosophy behind Solarize with Faith is “Stewardship in our hearts. Solar on our roofs.” All houses of worship in Connecticut are invited to be part of the Solarize with Faith effort.

Connecticut homeowners who want to get started finding out if their home is good for solar can go directly to solarizect.com/faith and select Solarize with Faith as their community.

The solar workshop is open to the community; people who attend the workshop can take advantage of the discounted price offered through the Solarize with Faith program to help residents go solar. Attendees will learn about the program, be introduced to the chosen installer, hear about financing options, and have a chance to learn if their house is good for solar. Admission is free.
