“We are so excited that Alyssa is lending her celebrity status to elevate our event,” said Lisa Gray, Founder and Executive Director of A Promise to Jordan. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us to recognize that the LGBTQ+ community struggles with substance use and mental health issues, too, and learn more about how we may be able to help.”

Alyssa Taglia can be seen every weekday morning on WTNH News 8’s Good Morning Connecticut as their Traffic Reporter and Co-Anchor of Good Morning Connecticut at 9. In early 2020, when the world was rattled by the Coronavirus pandemic, Alyssa established “Wednesday’s Warrior”, a weekly segment highlighting the good work of everyday warriors from Connecticut communities.

An early graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, the former Miss Connecticut 2016 represented her home state in the 2017 Miss America Pageant. Immediately following her year of service, Alyssa attended the New York Film Academy’s Broadcast Journalism certificate program on a full scholarship. She is always making it a top priority to give back and volunteer her time to many charitable organizations. At the young age of 12, Alyssa founded “Smiles for Seniors”, a volunteer-driven program created to enrich the lives of our elderly, specifically those in long-term care facilities. Above all, Alyssa puts family first. She loves spending quality time with her family, friends and Frenchton puppies, Remmy & Nico.

The brunch will feature top-tier entertainment and delicious offerings from Roux Cajun Eatery’s extensive menu. The restaurant is located at 10 Wilcox Street, in Simsbury and is home to the area’s only Louisiana-style cooking.
