Girl Scout Troop 66100 announces new girl leadership team

Congratulations to the new Girl Leadership Team for Simsbury Troop 66100! Elections were recently held and the following girls are welcomed into their new roles: President--Abbey M., Past-President--Hannah K., Vice-President--Jessica K., Secretary--Indiana P., Assistant Treasurer-- Kendra G.; Flag Captains--Jada M. & Hadley M., Community Service Captain-- Katie M. We are so proud of them and excited to have them as new leaders of our troop.

Troop 66100 is a large town-wide group with girls from grades 6 to 12. The Girl Leadership Team is responsible for planning meetings for the troop and to coordinate events and trips.

“The strength of a large troop is the opportunity to develop leadership skills”, said Rita King, adult coordinator. “There are many barriers for girls becoming leaders today. Girl Scouts helps reduce these barriers by providing a safe zone for young women to develop and practice their leadership skills”.
