State to help finance school construction project
State Rep. John Hampton announced Monday approval of a package of state grants for a variety of school building projects, including renovations at the Henry James Memorial School.

“The allocation for our school is welcome news,” said Rep. Hampton. “Once the work is completed, students will benefit from an improved school environment and taxpayers get relief with the state picking up nearly 35% of the cost.”
The estimated costs for the Henry James project is more than $23,965,000 with the state grant estimated at nearly $8,302,000. Under the state school construction grant program, the state reimburses cities and towns for a percentage of eligible costs.

The Henry James Memorial School project grant is included in a package of school construction projects statewide.
"I am proud to stand up for Simsbury students, parents and teachers at the State Capitol," said Rep. Hampton.
