Hartford Man Arrested for Wolcott Woods Shooting

May 19 shooting happened during marijuana sale.

Simsbury police arrested 20-year-old Alexander Rivera on Monday for an armed robbery and shooting on May 19 at Wolcott Woods Condominiums. The arrest was made with the help of Hartford Police Shooting Task Force.

Rivera, of 99 Atwood Street in Hartford, is charged with assault, conspiracy, robbery, threatening and larceny, according to a Simsbury Police Department news release.

A man with a wound in his upper body was taken to a local hospital after the shooting at the complex, according to CBS Connecticut.

According to The Hartford Courant, court documents revealed an exchange for half a pound of marijuana set the scene for the shooting.

Bond was set at $500,000, and Rivera appeared Tuesday in Superior Court in Enfield.
