HJMS Student is ARTSONIA “Artist of the Week”
Eighth grader Rachel Coppinger engineered a train design, earning her "Artist of the Week" from ARTSONIA.

Each week the online student exhibit space ARTSONIA selects works of art from students all around the country to represent the “Artist of the Week.” Henry James Memorial School (HJMS) eighth grader Rachel Coppinger’s artwork was awarded the winning prize for her age group for the week of March 26th–April 1st in the 7th–9th grade category.
Throughout the week of competition, people voted online for their favorite choice from their designated age group. Coppinger’s artwork, a temporary sculpture of a train using KEVA Planks to construct an engineered design, earned her 911 votes. Her work was inspired by concepts discussed in class with art teacher Laurel Archambault, who emphasized Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) in architectural design.
Archambault was thrilled to hear about the honor for one of her art students. She commented, “Rachel is such a deserving student!”
