Hop Meadow Assistant Pro to Play Travelers

Kyle Bilodeau earned automatic spot.

Kyle Bilodeau, Hop Meadow Country Club’s assistant golf pro, will play at the Travelers Championship for the first time June 20-23.

Bilodeau, 27, secured the Connecticut Section PGA automatic spot by winning the Spring PGA Stroke title at Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, MA, on May 13. There, he shot 3 under par 141, according to a West Hartford News article.

At the Travelers Championship, which begins June 17, Bilodeau will be one of 156 players. But he will be the only one from the Connecticut Section PGA

Bilodeau missed out on qualifying for the 2011 Travelers Championship by just one shot and now is looking forward to the opportunity.

“I feel like this is my shot,” he told the West Hartford News, but added that he aims to play against himself and not against the competition and to make the cut to go on to play during the weekend.
