Hope On The Hill Race to Raise Money for Cancer Research

The public is invited to participate in a 5K on May 19 at Westminster School to raise money for cancer research and care.

The second annual Hope On The Hill Race to raise money for cancer research and patient care will take place May 19 at Westminster School at 10 a.m.

Participants can do a 1-mile walk, run a beautiful 5K trail or bring along children for a half-mile Kid’s Fun Run. All proceed will go to the Friends of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which has raised more than $35 million to fund cancer research and patient care programs at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The event will include food vendors, musical entertainment and games. On-site race registration will begin at 9 a.m. Participants can run individually or as members of a team. Registration information and more details about the race can be found at hopeonthehillct.org/.

The Westminster School student group Serving our Neighbors has organized the race. Last year’s event raised $8,000, and the school community hopes to raise even more money this year.

Westminster School is located at 995 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury.
