Hour By Hour: On Our Way To 90 Degrees In Simsbury
Besides the heat and humidity, we'll also be dealing with a chance of severe weather later this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the chance of severe weather in Hartford and Tolland counties.
But in its latest advisory, the NWS writes there is only a “low risk for an isolated strong thunderstorm” this afternoon and early evening.
Likely, the biggest issue today, will be dealing with the area’s first official heat wave of the season.

By early afternoon temps are expected to reach 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. It will be a bit cooler on Friday with temps in the upper 80s, and for the next few days, temps will be in the low to mid 80s.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. West wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8pm. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2pm. Patchy fog between 8am and 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 83. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
