How Historic a Town is Simsbury?

There are over 90,000 sites in the United States listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Connecticut lays claim to 1,597 of them, with 16 located within the town of Simsbury.
The Capt. Elisha Phelps House at 800 Hopmeadow St. was the first to achieve the national designation on Sept. 22, 1972. The most recent was the Simsbury Center Historic District, on Hopmeadow St. from West St. to Massaco St., designated on Apr. 12, 1996.
