Jennifer Haigh to Give Reading at Westminster School Nov. 5

The Friday Nights at Westminster series will welcome award-winning writer Jennifer Haigh for a reading Nov. 5.

Bestselling novelist and short story writer Jennifer Haigh will give a reading at Westminster School Nov. 5 as part of the school’s Friday Nights at Westminster series of readings and concerts held during the academic year.

Haigh is the author of the highly acclaimed novels “Mrs. Kimble,” “Baker Towers,” “The Condition,” “Faith,” “Heat and Light,” and a book of short stories, “News From Heaven.” Her new novel, “Mercy Street,” will be released in February.

Haigh’s books have won the PEN/Hemingway Award, the Massachusetts Book Award and the PEN New England Award in Fiction, and have been published in 18 languages. She is a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow and won a Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Haigh’s reading at Westminster School will take place from 7-8 p.m. in the school’s Andrews Memorial Chapel. It is free and open to vaccinated members of the public with advance registration by emailing mcervas@westminster-school.org with the number of people attending. Reservations may be made until the day before the event, and space may be limited.

Westminster School is located at 995 Hopmeadow St. in Simsbury. Ample parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to Armour Academic Center.

The Michael Cervas Visiting Writers Program, which includes the Friday Nights at Westminster series, is supported by generous gifts from the Ford-Goldfarb English Department Enrichment Fund, the McKinley Fund, the Connell Fund and the Friday Nights at Westminster Fund.
