Last Day Of School Celebration Slated In Simsbury

The town's recreation department Wednesday, June 12, is hosting its annual 'Last Day of School Funfest.'

SIMSBURY, CT — If ever an event begging for Alice Cooper's beloved, end-of-the-school-year anthem to be blasted, it is the Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation Department's event next week.

On Wednesday, June 12, the department is hosting its annual "Last Day of School Funfest" at the Simsbury Farms Rink Pavilion, 100 Old Farms Road, West Simsbury.

There, event organizers promise to create a so-called "inflatable amusement wonderland."

It will take place from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12.

Simsbury schools finish the 2023-24 school year that day with a half day.

After celebrating the final bell of the year, children and families are invited to head over to the Simsbury Farms Rink.

Admission bracelets for unlimited bounces will be sold in advance at www.simsburyrec.com for $5 per child until Tuesday, June 11. Admission will be $8 cash at the door.

"We recommend this event for children ages 4 to 14. Parents and young siblings who will not bounce do not need to register," wrote the Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation Department.

In addition, the Simsbury Farms Pool will be open for swimming, with a pool membership or daily admission pass ($7 for residents) required for the pool.
