Library's 'Giving Tree' To Give Back To Simsbury Community
The Simsbury Public Library is asking folks to stop by, grab a tag from a Christmas tree, then return with a donation to help the needy.
SIMSBURY, CT — The Simsbury Public Library's "Giving Tree Program" officially kicked off over the Thanksgiving weekend, the goal being to help those struggling locally this holiday season.
From now to the first week of January, the library — located at 725 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury — is collecting everything from retail gift cards, home goods, and senior citizen supplies.
Donations will then be given to Simsbury Community & Social Services and redistributed to those in town who are in need.

Currently, folks are urged to grab a tag stating what is needed specifically from a Christmas tree in the library and then return the tag and donation back.
"Please consider taking a tag from our tree or simply bringing in these items needed by struggling families and older adults in our community," wrote the library on Saturday, Nov. 25.
