Local American Legion Makes Donation To Support Simsbury TV Broadcasts
The veterans organization is aiding the local media organization entrusted with recording municipal meetings and events.

SIMSBURY, CT — A local veterans organization recently donated to the town's public access station, aiding the organization entrusted with recording municipal meetings and events.
Simsbury Community Media has received a $1,000 donation from American Legion Post 84 to support its local programming efforts, the nonprofit announced March 19.
The contribution was formally presented during a recent check ceremony attended by Bob Roberts, finance officer for Post 84; John Cashman, the post’s commander; and a senior vice commander.

They met with Rose Vigdal, a member of the Simsbury Community Media board.
“The support of community partners is essential to the fulfillment of SCM’s commitment to local programming,” Simsbury Community Media said in its announcement.

Founded in 1984, Simsbury Community Media operates as a nonprofit public access station based in Eno Memorial Hall.
The organization provides public, educational, and government programming, including coverage of town meetings, high school sports, and community events.
Its content airs on local cable channels through Xfinity and Frontier.
The station is funded through a combination of cable subscriber fees and community donations.
Officials said partnerships with local organizations remain a key component of sustaining its operations.
