Locally Made: Jones Apiaries Honey
Jones Apiaries, located in Farmington, produces locally made Connecticut honey.
When Ted and Becky Jones received a beehive as a wedding present in 1972, the Farmington couple embarked on a lifelong hobby that would eventually become a thriving local business.
Jones Apiaries became a full-time operation in the 1990's and has since grown to approximately 300 colonies that provide locally made honey to local retailers and farmers markets across central and western Connecticut.
The local business also provides equipment and bees to local hobbyists and aids pollination at regional farms, land trusts, and private properties where the beehives are located.
