March into this Week in Simsbury
Five things in the next five days you should know about.

Having survived our first multiple girl sleepover party, we are feeling a bit more middle-aged. It started with trying to make a fun mix tape (CD, that is) that was appropriate for ‘tweens. Not so easy to do. Then peeking around corners to catch what was “going on”, we discovered instead it was our own memories of reprehensible sleepover conduct haunting us.
Luckily, our six-year-old boy provided behavior for us to actively parent when he decided to put soap on the stairs so the girls would slip. We properly lectured him on safety issues of course, while secretly marveling at the creativity of his caper. The girls were energetic, watching Taylor Swift videos and the new Karate Kid movie, and we fell asleep early trying to remember if Ralph Macchio was considered cool back in the day.
When did this happen? When did we get so fogey? I can only take comfort in the fact that I could roll with the punch lines on the new younger version of the Oscars, I still occasionally peel out of my driveway in the minivan (well, accidentally), oh and I don’t need bifocals yet.
