Mark Orenstein Receives SCTV Volunteer Award

Simsbury Community TV presents annual Volunteer Award to Mark Orenstein of Simsbury.

Mark Orenstein of Simsbury has received the Albert "Buzz" Holmes Award from Simsbury Community Television in recognition of his outstanding volunteer efforts on behalf of the local access TV station. The award is presented annually to an outstanding volunteer who exhibits a commitment to Simsbury Community TV's excellence in programming. The award was present by Station Manager Karen Handville at a volunteer appreciation party held at Atilio's restaurant on Sept. 28. He is credited with making the community television programming available through live broadcasts and through archives at the SCTV website and YouTube. Orenstein "epitomizes the spirit, dedication, talent and experience of the ideal volunteer," said Handville. "We simply could not function without people like him and other volunteers, who plan coverage of happenings throughout town, operate the equipment in the studio and onsite at town meetings and events, perform clerical functions and every other conceivable task involved in managing our organization," she said.
