Meet A Snake (And Other Creatures) In Simsbury
The Simsbury Public Library Wednesday is hosting Riverside Reptiles for a special meet-and-greet with a few reptilian friends.
SIMSBURY, CT — Snakes, lizards, and turtles are usually hibernating this time of year.
But at the Simsbury Public Library Wednesday afternoon, local children are invited to a special reptilian program on Wednesday, Jan. 15, which is a half-day for local schools.
Called "Meet the Reptiles," the event will take place at the library, located at 725 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, in two separate sessions from 2:30 to 3 p.m. and, again, from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m.

It will be hosted by Riverside Reptiles, which is a small reptile zoo in Enfield that is open year-round to educate and showcase the public about these, often, misunderstood creatures.
The program is free, but registration for each session in advance is required, with registration closing at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

It is geared for children in grades pre-K to sixth grade along with their caregivers.
