Mitchell Auto Cares designates Healthy Eyes Alliance as July Charity of the Month

Mitchell Auto Care's continued support is invaluable in Healthy Eyes Alliance's ability to provide free vision screenings and services.

Healthy Eyes Alliance (HEA) has a proud history of saving sight and is grateful for the support of corporate donor Mitchell Auto Group and its Mitchell Auto Cares program.

One of HEA’s most vibrant programs is the Healthy Eyes-Healthy Families program that is implemented in Hartford, Fairfield and New Haven counties. Over the last two years HEA vision screened 1,278 individuals in Hartford County, thanks in part to funding from Mitchell Auto Cares.

Mitchell’s continued support has been invaluable in HEA’s ability to provide free vision screenings and follow-up services in Hartford. This year, Mitchell Auto Cares has designated HEA to be their July Charity of the Month. A $1,500 donation will be made to the Campaign to Save Sight.

HEA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is "to prevent vision loss and promote healthy eyes" in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Its programs are primarily aimed at preschool children and adults at risk who are living in poverty in urban neighborhoods. HEA’s goal is to put an end to preventable and treatable blindness through early detection, free access to vision care (eye exams, glasses, and surgery if necessary) and public education. Its roots go back to the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness that was founded in New York City in 1908.

Other funders in the Hartford area include Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association, The Fund for Greater Hartford, the MacDonald Family Trust, and the Ensworth Charitable Foundation, to name a few.
