Three Simsbury High School students went to the Old State House Wednesday to take part in a program on preserving African-American history and CT’s Freedom Trail. They spoke about their work revolving around Martin Luther King, Jr’s time in Simsbury, and their efforts to create a memorial to him. Once built, the memorial will offer educational programming focused on racial equality and social justice, along with linkages to education related to the CT Freedom Trail.
