Improve your financial literacy at Money Smart Week events sponsored by Simsbury Public Library. Activities for all ages!

In partnership with the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Simsbury Public Library and local partners present Money Smart Week, a week-long series of events to increase financial literacy for all ages.
Shred Event, Saturday, April 18, 9am-1:00pm, Simsbury Town Hall Front Lot, 933 Hopmeadow St.: Bring old records for shredding. Simsbury residents only. 3 grocery bag limit per household. Life Size Game of LIFE for Teens, Sunday, April 19, 2-4:00pm, Library Program Room: Teens! Play a Simsbury themed, life size game of LIFE to test your decision-making skills and to discover where your journey will lead! Registration suggested at 860-658-7663 or www.simsburylibrary.info.
Dine and Discover: Protect Yourself from Financial Crimes and Identity Theft, Monday, April 20, 5-6:30pm, Eno Hall, 754 Hopmeadow St.: Share a meal followed by an informative discussion of financial crimes like phishing, scams and internet fraud and identity theft led by Dave Baker from Farmington Bank and Lauren Devin from the Simsbury Police Department. Raising Financially Responsible Children, Wednesday, April 22, 6:30-7:30pm, Simsbury Library Program Room: Teaching your children to be financially responsible can be a struggle. Anindita Mohanty, a financial services professional at NY Life, will familiarize parents with financial concepts, including guidelines and tips for talking to children about financial matters. ‘Making Cents’: A Puppet Show, Saturday, April 25, 3:00-4:00pm, Simsbury Library Program Room: A little girl creates her own business to make money for a new jump rope in this fun and educational family show. Rolande Duprey and Purple Rock Productions use hand puppets with live actors to teach financial literacy to grade school students. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.
