More Campus Notes - Simsbury College Students

SIMSBURY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern Connecticut State University recently released the names of four full-time students from Simsbury who were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. They are, with majors: Bailey Holloway, Pre-Secondary Education Certification and Mathematics; Danielle Romanelli, Psychology; Daniel Straughn, Physical Education; and Kaylee West, Communication.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

• Four students from Simsbury have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester: Henry Carr, Annika Geno, Ellen Schenk and Melissa Stumper. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that 5,500 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2017 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, and many other states and nations. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average. The list includes students who have not yet declared their majors as well as those from all of the University's undergraduate academic colleges. Honorees from Simsbury are Casey Croft, Ellena Gressier, Brenna Kelly, Jonathan Laiuppa, Tyrus Perdue and John Sacala.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Spencer Ralphs of Simsbury, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the fall 2017 semester. A total of 1,608 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's fall 2017 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.
