National Ambulatory Surgery Company Supports Simsbury A Better Chance (ABC)

Simsbury ABC board member Cathy Bartell discovered that her employer, Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA) based in Birmingham, Alabama was seeking to donate to local non-profits where its’ employees served. She submitted a grant application for facility improvements at the Simsbury ABC house at 835 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Within a very short time, she learned that SCA had approved a $4000 grant for a much-needed upgrade and expansion of the exterior storage shed. This is just another example of the kind of support that businesses give to Simsbury ABC and Cathy was thrilled to get this kind of support from her national company. Cathy works at Connecticut Surgery Center, a local ambulatory surgery center that is part of SCA.

The SCA Community Service Foundation awards grants to teammates who take an active, personal role in community service programs. The grants are approved by SCA Administrators and funded by SCA and the Hayek Family Foundation.
