Nation's Top Poet Coming To Simsbury School
The public is invited to attend Monday's program that will feature the U.S. Poet Laureate.
SIMSBURY, CT — The country's top poet is coming to a school in Simsbury next week with the public invited to reserve a limited number of seats to attend.
U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón is the "Visiting Writer" at The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, school officials announced Tuesday.
The Ethel Walker School is an independent, college preparatory, boarding and day school in Simsbury for girls in grades six through 12 plus a postgraduate year.

Limon's visit will be at the school's Ferguson Theatre, 230 Bushy Hill Road, Simsbury.
A reading, with refreshments and book signing to follow, is open to the public and will be held on Monday, April 10, at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited and by reservation only.

She is the author of six books of poetry, including The Carrying, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry, according to school officials.
The Ethel Walker School Visiting Writer Seminar is a semester-long course in which students have the "rare and special opportunity to immerse themselves in a study of one writer’s works, something few students of English at the undergraduate and graduate levels experience."
The course culminates with a visit by the author to Walker.
