New Exciting Clubs for Kids & Teens at the Storyteller's Cottage
Pick Your Favorite, or Sign Up for All of Them!

Starting this January, children and teens can enjoy new clubs and activities on Sunday afternoons at the Storyteller’s Cottage: Fantasy Gaming Club, Japanese Anime Club, The Mysterious Pendragon Society, and Fictional Feasts.
Fantasy Gaming Club
- First Sundays | 2:00-5:00 pm
- Cost per meeting: $20 for a three-hour game
- Guests can indulge in their favorite fantasy games, such as Dungeons & Dragons, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and more with their fellow enthusiasts. Pre-registration is required, as seating is limited. (Max 6 players)

Japanese Anime Club

- Third Sundays | 1:30-3:00 pm
- Cost per meeting: $20
- This club is for fans of the anime style of animation -- the kids and teens who love graphic novels, drawing, and trying cool new foods from the Maruichi Japanese Grocery Store. The Japanese Anime Club will meet to discuss new anime shows and manga books, taste Japanese snacks, pick up a few new words of Japanese, and learn to draw in the anime style. It’s a book club, a class, and a new friend hangout all at once!

The Mysterious Pendragon Society
- Fourth Sundays | 1:00-2:30 pm
- Cost per meeting: $20
- The Mysterious Pendragon Society is a mind-bending adventure combining codebreaking, spy challenges, fantasy writing, and epic book discussions. This club takes the best of popular book series such as The Mysterious Benedict Society, Greenglass House, Artemis Fowl, Book Scavenger, and Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, and creates fascinating challenges for guests each month in the hidden castle meeting room. Guests will solve mysteries, learn secret codes, analyze their favorite books, and write their own fantasy stories.

Fictional Feasts: A Book & Food Pairing Club

- Cost per meeting: $10 online, or $15 at the door
- From Harry Potter’s chocolate frogs to Anne of Green Gables’ raspberry cordial to the Turkish Delight from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, classic literature is filled with iconic foods. Fictional Feasts is a cross between a book club and a tea party. Guests will celebrate and immerse themselves in their favorite classic novels as they chat about the stories and sample their quintessential cuisines. January’s meeting will feature heart-shaped cakes and snow candy from Little House on the Prairie.

The Storyteller’s Cottage is located in a vintage Victorian house in the center of historic Simsbury, CT, and hosts all manner of immersive literary events throughout the year, including Agatha Christie inspired live murder mystery parties, Great Gatsby themed Jazz Supper Clubs, fascinating close-up illusions at Fine Parlor Magic nights, a Literary Dinner Party series on select evenings at midnight, and more.
