No Mill Rate Increase in Simsbury Fire District Budget

Simsbury voters approve Simsbury Fire District Budget with no increase in mill rate.

Simsbury voters approved the Fire District budget with no mill rate increase. On May 8, 2017 at the Simsbury Fire District annual meeting voters approved a $3,010,153 budget. This reflects a 0.3% decrease over last year’s budget.

Voters also approved a $15,000 transfer of capital nonrecurring funds for the purchase of rescue and electronic equipment along with a transfer of $ 221,536 of unanticipated funds to the Town of Simsbury. Voters approved to maintain the present mill rate of 1.23 mills on real estate and personal property and 1.0 mill on vehicles. An election of officers resulted in the reelections of Gary Wilcox as President, and John Solury, Sr. as Clerk for two year terms.
