UPDATE: Simsbury High School Student Struck by Vehicle Released from Hospital

The accident happened Tuesday morning in front of the school.

The girl struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in front of Simsbury High School has been released from the hospital.

Capt. Nicholas Boulter said the girl "thankfully (had) no significant injuries. The accident is currently under investigation."

SIMSBURY, CT - A 16-year-old girl was injured when struck by a vehicle in front of Simsbury High School Tuesday morning, according to police.

In a written statement, Capt. Nicholas Boulter said the accident happened at 7:23 a.m. as the girl, a student at the school, was crossing Farms Village Road.

The girl was transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries and was reported to be in stable condition, Boulter said.

"The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and is fully cooperating with investigators," Boulter said, adding the road was closed for a short period of time while police conducted an investigation. It has since reopened, he said.
