People’s Action for Clean Energy (PACE) Announces Retirement of Judi Friedman
It is with heartfelt appreciation and sadness that PACE announces the retirement of long-time chairman Judi Friedman. Judi has led PACE for forty-three years and has been a strong, clear and impassioned voice in support of clean energy and energy efficiency and against nuclear power and weapons. Judi, and the PACE team she has gathered and inspired, have been tireless advocates at public events, legislative hearings and environmental forums, both in person and on state and local television and radio. Through it house tours, publications, radiation monitoring and recognition of environmental leaders, PACE has educated countless members of the public on energy issues. PACE has received many local and national plaudits, including an energy innovation award by the State of Connecticut in 1984 and the Department of the Interior in 1992.
“Judi has left a lasting legacy in the PACE organization,” says president Timothy Bowles, “and she will always embody the spirit and soul of the organization.”
