An unusual number of burglaries to homes and businesses at the southern end of town since July has Simsbury police investigating, stepping up patrols and asking residents for help: If you see something suspicious or know something, please contact the department, police say.
Since July, according to a WFSB-TV report, burglars struck houses and commercial buildings on Lincoln Lane, Harding Drive, Hopmeadow Street, West Mountain Road, Sand Hill Road, Evans Drive, Fernwood Road, Oak Glen Court and Fawnbrook Lane.
Police said entry to buildings was made through locked basement and first-floor windows or business windows on the ground floor, according to WFSB-TV.
