PR Powerhouse Alisa Picerno Appointed to Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Board

Alisa Picerno, President of Alliances by Alisa Media Relations, has built a career by shining the spotlight on the positive contributions of businesses in our state. Now she will lend that expertise to the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce as a newly-appointed member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors

“The Chamber is thrilled that Alisa has agreed to join the Board,” said Executive Director, Lisa Gray. “She has been an invaluable member who continually volunteers her time and talent to support our activities.”

Gray cites Picerno’s stellar work as the Publicity Chair of this year’s Simsbury Spooktacular Chili Challenge Task Force. By securing sponsorships from both a radio and TV station, numerous newspaper articles, interviews and social media posts, attendance jumped from 1,800 last year to over 2,400 at the Chamber’s largest event of the year.

Picerno is a true entrepreneur starting her firm fourteen years ago and earning a reputation as one of the most effective publicity firms in Connecticut. Alliances by Alisa is a high-energy publicity, advertising and social media firm that boasts more than twenty years of experience in engaging statewide, regional and national media outlets. Picerno has represented a number of high profile clients including Western Connecticut Health Network, the Governor’s Prevention Partnership, New Country Motor Car Group, Blue Back Square, Lauralton Hall and Assisted Living Services to name a few. Many of her clients have enjoyed the results of national media exposure including The New York Times, USA Today, Extra, Oprah Magazine, People Magazine, Good Morning America and The Doctors.

Prior to establishing her own media relations firm, Picerno served in the busy communications department of Qualidigm. Previous positions include Director of Marketing for MassMutual Financial Group and Director of Public Relations for several field agencies affiliated with both MassMutual Financial Group and New England Financial.

Throughout her career, she has worked at several independent public relations agencies, the Connecticut State Capitol and was a broadcast reporter for numerous radio stations across the state. Alisa is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and has earned her MBA from Southern Connecticut State University.

In addition to the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce, she is an active member of Business Network International (BNI) Simsbury/Avon Chapter and former Vice President for Business Network International (BNI) West Hartford Chapter.

A Simsbury resident, Picerno’s first full board meeting will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
