Public Invited to Free Performance of Fiddler on the Roof Jr

Performance is on Friday, July 27 at Simsbury High School at 7:00PM

Students enrolled in the Simsbury Arts Academy (SAA) this summer will present a production of Fiddler on the Roof Jr. on Friday, July 27 at Simsbury High School. The curtain goes up at 7:00PM, and the public is invited to this free performance!

For three weeks at Simsbury High School during the past nine summers, SAA has offered K-12 students from all over the Farmington Valley arts enrichment and education. A professional faculty, all experts in the fields of visual arts, strings, musical theater, fashion design, and jazz, nurture the students’ budding artistic talents. Different areas of study are grouped into “academies,” which give students the freedom to focus on one particular artistic area or cross over to sample many forms of visual arts, music, or performing arts.

SAA’s Musical Theater Academy, with productions directed by Michael Hunter, is an intensive program that focuses on learning and implementing the basic elements of successful onstage training in acting, vocal music, and dance in a fun, engaging, and rewarding camp-like atmosphere.

Said SAA Director Shannon Gagne, “Fiddler on the Roof Jr. is a great introduction to the world of musical theater. Young performers love its humor, warmth, and honesty, and the public will, too!”
