As 2019 approaches, Connecticut – with newly elected leadership in the governor’s office -- will confront fiscal challenges unprecedented in recent times. Simsbury will need a seasoned state representative, one who has demonstrated the energy and commitment necessary to work effectively and collaboratively “across the aisle.”
John Hampton has accomplished this, and much more, since first elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in November 2012.

He has consistently fostered productive communication with his constituents, greeting residents at locations throughout town, appearing on Simsbury Community TV programming, responding to inquiries and providing updates as legislative sessions unfold. Simsbury residents can rest assured that their voices have been heard; he has not missed a single vote in the last legislative session.
He has represented Simsbury well, having served as vice chairman of the Committee on Children and as a member of the Aging Committee, among others.
As an environmentalist, I have applauded his significant, bipartisan accomplishment in organizing the state’s first water summit, with the goal of passing the first statewide water plan in the 2019 legislative session.
It is most important that he be given the endorsement of Simsbury voters on November 6, and the opportunity to continue his work in the upcoming legislative session.
