​Reminder: On November 3, “Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries™”

It's that time of year again: when you change your clocks back for Daylight Saving Time, “Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries™.”

Every fall, the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company works to remind people of the simple, life-saving habit of changing and testing the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when setting their clocks back, this year on Sunday, November 3.

Many smoke alarms which failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries. This reinforces how important it is to take this time each year to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

You can also use social media to help spread the word and remind friends and family to change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors on November 3.
