Rep. Hampton & Water Planning Council to Host Public Meeting on State Water Plan Draft Report
Public Input Welcome on First Statewide Water Plan

Simsbury's State Representative John K. Hampton and the State Water Planning Council (WPC) will host a public meeting in Simsbury Town Hall, Main Meeting Room, 933 Hopmeadow Street at 7 p.m. to provide comments and answer questions from residents on the State Water Plan Draft Report.
The report is a result of Public Act 14-163 that Rep. Hampton authored in 2014 to address the absence of a comprehensive statewide water plan, the WPC has recently submitted a draft State Water Plan for public review to give Connecticut residents, businesses, and other stakeholders an opportunity to provide feedback before it is finalized early next year. Interested parties will have an opportunity to review the draft plan and provide the group with their comments through November 20, 2017. The plan can be reviewed at www.ct.gov/water.

“Having been very involved spearheading the passage of Public Act 14-163 in 2014 to address the absence of a comprehensive statewide water plan, I am very proud to see the draft State Water Plan in its final stages of completion and ready for public review and input.” Rep. Hampton said. “I am excited to have the first public meeting in Simsbury and I encourage everyone in the Farmington River Valley and in the state to visit the website, read the plan and submit both written and verbal comment at the meeting on how we can make the plan even better to address the state’s water needs.”
