Blue Plate Radio is Rockin' Out the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center on August 16 with not one, not two but THREE OF THE BEST JAZZ BANDS ON THE PLANET!
- Down to the Bone - the funk/fusion/soul/jazz rockers are internationally acclaimed and have had the #1 or #2 Billboard Smooth Jazz hit since their new CD, "Dig It," was released in April. The Jazz 'N' Blue Festival at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center on August 16 marks Down to the Bone's ONLY Connecticut appearance this year and this first appearance in CT in almost seven years! Down to the Bone's horn section will be BLAZING in a performance that is not to be missed!
- Airborne - Airborne's R&B/soul/funk/Latin/Caribbean/smooth jazz inspired songs have kept Airborne at the forefront of the contemporary jazz scene for over 25 years. With eight CDs to their credit, the New Haven-based band has a long history of music to draw from and they plan to touch on most of that during their long set. There's a reason Airborne has opened for stellar acts like Acoustic Alchemy, Jeff Lorber, and Tower of Power!
- West Hartford's own Doug Jones kicks off the festival with an expanded band and a promise to showcase more than his talents on sax! Many don't know that Doug Jones is a multi-instrumentalist - excelling not just on alto sax but tenor sax, soprano sax, baritone sax, Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) and Blues harmonica! Doug Jones has us a couple of Blues numbers that showcase his 1st-call skills with harp! We're SO looking forward to this!
