Simsbury ABC erects new sign!
Simsbury Chamber of Commerce attends ribbon cutting at Simsbury ABC

Simsbury ABC selects boys of color who have demonstrated academic promise in middle school and invites them to move to Simsbury to attend Simsbury High. The program is highly competitive and is part of the National ABC Program.
New Simsbury ABC Board members and local residents Cathy Bartell and Tom Frank persuaded the Board that the enormous good that the program does needs more awareness among Simsbury residents. They emphasized that it is the proudest house on the street. So after 40 plus years of operation at 835 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, the Board of Simsbury ABC decided to erect a sign in front of the ABC house.
The Simsbury Chamber of Commerce organized a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the program's new awareness efforts. The ribbon cutting was well attended by Simsbury First Selectman Lisa L. Heavner, Selectman Cheryl Cook, State Representative John Hampton, Simsbury High School Principal (and ABC Board member) Andrew O’Brien, Board of Finance member (and ABC Board member) Linda Schofield, Board of Education member (and ABC Board member) Tom Frank, President of the Simsbury Chamber Chip Houlihan, Chamber Executive Director Lisa Gray and many members of the Simsbury business community.
