Simsbury Arts & Crafts Festival: What You Need To Know

The free event will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center.

SIMSBURY, CT — Organizers of the Simsbury Arts & Crafts Festival might want to extend a firm "thank you" to Mother Nature, who opted to steer Hurricane Lee eastward and miss the state.

As a result, the Simsbury Junior Woman's Club event should go off as planned on Saturday, Sept. 16, and Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center, 22 Iron Horse Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

The free event will feature a plethora of musical entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, and food, among other attractions.

While outside picnics are allowed at the site, there is also beverage/bar service as well as food concessions available for purchase.

In addition to arts and crafts, the festival will also feature a touch-a-truck program featuring a monster truck, dump truck, fire vehicles and police vehicles, among others.

Children will be able to get up close and personal with the vehicles, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

As for getting there, parking shouldn't be a worry as parking is also free and is available at the site on a first-come, first-serve basis.
