The bank promotes Michael Alberts and will sponsor Granby's 225 event.
Simsbury Bank will be a platinum sponsor of Celebrate Granby 225. As platinum sponsor, Simsbury Bank will sponsor all transportation the day of the celebration at Salmon Brook Park, Saturday, Oct. 1. Celebrate Granby 225 will feature numerous events for the whole family and is the culminating event of the yearlong, townwide, celebration.
“Simsbury Bank is honored to be a part of this momentous occasion for Granby,” said Jocelyn Mitchell, senior market manager of Simsbury Bank’s Granby office. “We enjoy being a part of this community and look forward to celebrating Granby’s birthday, its history and its future on Oct. 1.”

The bank also announced that Michael L. Alberts has been promoted to the newly created role of senior vice president and chief commercial banking officer. In this role, Alberts will be responsible for the bank’s commercial banking strategy and implementation including overseeing development and enhancement of full service commercial banking relationships with businesses as well as credit administration including portfolio management, loan underwriting, monitoring and collection.
“Mr. Alberts has made a great contribution to Simsbury Bank since joining us over a year ago,” said Martin J. Geitz, president and CEO of Simsbury Bank. “He has a keen knowledge of how to assist our commercial customers in finding the right loan and cash management solutions for their needs. Given his extensive commercial and retail banking background, including management positions, Mr. Alberts is ideal to lead our commercial efforts going forward.”
