Simsbury To Be Site of Tallest Christmas Tree in Connecticut

On Sunday, November 27th at 5:00 pm at the Talcott Mountain Holiday Festival at 140 Nod Road in Simsbury, the tallest Christmas tree in Connecticut will be lit for the holidays in a special ceremony featuring live caroling choirs and free snacks.

Clocking in at 66 feet, the monstrous tree is located just behind the building housing the Talcott Mountain Collective and the Healing Meals Community Project. Sponsored by Talcott View Development and co-hosted by Two Sisters Ice Cream and The Kerri-Lee Mayland Company, the Holiday Festival and tree lighting ceremony are free and open to the public.

The Festival will kick off the holiday season with a European-style artisan’s market at 1:00 pm, a storytime with Shmelf the Hannukah Elf at 1:30 pm, photos with Santa from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, free cookies, cider donuts, ice cream and hot chocolate from Two Sisters Ice Cream all afternoon, and the day culminates with the festive tree lighting at 5:00 pm, featuring a community carol sing with choirs from Simsbury High School and Northwest Catholic.

The record-breaking tree has been decorated with thousands of lights by Precision Tree Experts of New Hartford, and the tree-lighting ceremony promises to be stunning. All proceeds from this heartwarming community event will go to the Healing Meals Community Project, a local organization preparing and delivering nutritious meals to people facing a health crisis.
