Simsbury A Better Chance

Simsbury A Better Chance (ABC House) Fundraising

Simsbury A Better Chance (ABC) is a college preparatory program that has been changing lives for almost 43 years. We competitively select boys of color from regional middle schools based on academic merit and put them through four years at Simsbury High School. These boys have demonstrated academic talent and motivation in middle school, but are in school systems where their full potential is not likely to be realized. Simsbury High School provides them with the ability to fully realize their potential and to go on to college. We have graduated over 80 boys in 40+ years and all except one of these have successfully completed college. Many have gone of to graduate school and to leadership positions in their communities and industries.

Our program is based at the ABC House at 835 Hopmeadow St, where we provide room and board and a home-like environment while the boys attend Simsbury High School. Simsbury ABC is funded entirely by the citizens and businesses of Simsbury; we get no funding from the town of Simsbury, or any government agency, or from the National ABC program. The donations we receive go 100% to caring for our students while they reside with us during high school. Right now, we are in the middle of our annual fundraising effort, and we are about half way to our goal. If you want to donate, please send your donation to: Simsubury ABC, PO Box 542, Simsbury, CT 06070, or go to www.simsburyabetterchance.org, click Support, then Donations, then the Donate button to be taken to PayPal. Please help us provide a future for these talented young men, and have a happy holiday.
