Simsbury Business Makes List of Best Ice Cream Spots in Connecticut

WEST SIMSBURY, CT - The calendar has turned to March, and in north central Connecticut, signs of spring are everywhere - no snow on the ground, temperatures in the 40s and 50s, kids tossing a baseball around in the park.

Another telltale indication of the imminent arrival of spring is the opening of ice cream shops around the region. With that in mind, the online site www.onlyinyourstate.com recently featured their list of the 11 best ice cream shops in the Nutmeg State.

West Simsbury placed near the top of the list, with Tulmeadow Farm at 255 Farms Village Road ranked at No. 3.

“This is a favorite for me because I love malt options. Plus they have cool flavors like dulce de leche,” Only In Your State opined.

The farm, which opens to the public in mid-April, produces over 50 different flavors of very rich 16% butterfat gourmet ice cream., with the top-selling flavor being Red Raspberry with Chocolate Chips. Large quantities of their ice cream is produced in quarts and pints, which are sold in their Farm Store and some area stores.
