Simsbury Crew Competes at the New England Regionals

On Sunday, October 9, Simsbury’s Crew team traveled to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts to compete in the 13th Annual New England Regionals. Simsbury crew entered 3 girls boats and 3 boys boats into the regatta.

The sunny, but cold day brought with it strong head winds that posed a challenge to the rowers as they rowed the 2.6 mile course. There was a super turn out of spectators, all enthusiastically cheering on their crews.

Simsbury crew rowed hard and with determination. The girls third boat came 6th out of 9 schools. The girls second Varsity boat achieved 10th place, and the girls first varsity boat finished 13th out of 20 boats.
The boys third boat came 16th, the boys second varsity boat finished 17th out of 22 boats, and finally the boys first varsity boat came out 16th against 24 other schools.
