Simsbury Crew Competes at the New England Regionals

On Sunday, October 8, Simsbury’s Crew team traveled to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts to compete in the 14th Annual New England Regionals. Simsbury crew entered 2 girl’s varsity boats and 2 boy’s varsity boats into the regatta

The cloudy, cold day brought with it tail winds that made rowing the 2.6 mile course challenging at times.

The girls second boat took 11th place out of 16 schools. The girl’s 1st boat rowed an awesome race against 22 other teams and achieved the 9th spot.

Due to last minute unforeseen circumstances, the boys second boat had to row with one less rower. Despite the setback they rowed with determination and claimed the 17th spot out of 20 boats. The boy’s first varsity boat came out 19th against 24 other schools.
