Simsbury Crew Competes at the New England Regionals

On Sunday, October 13, Simsbury’s Crew team competed in the 15th Annual New England Regionals in Worcester, Massachusetts. This year the Simsbury crew entered 3 girl’s boats and 4 boy’s boats into the regatta.

The cold day was accompanied by icy winds and the constant threat of rain. Despite these less than perfect conditions the boats rowed the 2.6 mile course with grit and tenacity.

The girl's 3rd Varsity boat took the 8th spot against 9 schools. The girl's second boat took 7th place out of 11 schools. The girl’s 1st boat rowed an awesome race against 13 other teams and achieved the 8th spot.

The boy's 4th varsity boat came in the 6th spot in their race of 8 boats. The boy's 3rd varsity boat placed 9 against 10 boats. The boy's second boat claimed the 15th spot out of 16 boats. The boy’s first varsity boat came out 19th against 20 other schools.

This Sunday, 20 October, sees the boys and girls V1 boats traveling to Massachusetts to row in the Head of the Charles Regatta.
